![]() I've also tried to set the clock in Pro Tools but it says "See Control Panel" so I can't find where to set this.Īny help would be appreciated in helping to resolve this issue. I keep the track I am recording in Pro Tools muted while I record it. Everything I hear when I record is in real time and sounds correct. When I record, I mute the track in protools and use the Axe FX to direct monitor my self so I'm not hearing latency back from the DAW while tracking. The actual audio in the clip is pushed back. As I mentioned above, there is extra space in the beginning of the clip so it isn't like all of the audio is lined up in Pro Tools and then the playback is then playing back delayed. Also I should note that I'm running these tracks without effects and this is happening. I've tried changing the buffer size and clicking all those boxes that say "minimize latency". Prior to thIs, I just used the driver with my Axe FX 3 or with my Scarlett 2i2. They also suggested updating my driver's. They said I had delay compensation turned on and that I need that turned off during recording. I contacted AVID last week prior to the drum session. So here are some things that I have tried to resolve the issue but nothing has fixed it. We would listen back with the click and everything was delayed. This past weekend, my drummer and I set up to record some of his tracks. I also did not mention the timing issue to him prior to this so his comment was not influenced by anything said to him prior. When we listened to it back, he noticed that it was definitely off time and said that I played it much more in time than what we were hearing on the play back. Then, I recorded a guitar track for him to have a reference. Then, my bass player and I set down with my recording rig to record his tracks. I have to put the track in slip mode, zoom in and try to find the best spot for the timing to line up, which isn't always easy.Īt first I thought, it was just me playing poorly. If my first note is on the down beat of bar 5, the first note is a tad behind the grid), so it's not like the track has just slipped off the grid and I can move it back. It's like Pro Tools adds extra time to the beginning of the audio and the clip starts exactly where I started the recording (so if I started at bar 5, the clip still starts on bar 5. The actual track clip is still lined up with the grid. So when I record the tracks, everything sounds fine and in time. So essentially all the tracks I record end up off time by a few milliseconds (not sure of the exact amount of time). I apologize in advance for the long post. I'm having an issue with the way Pro Tools is recording tracks. r/MixClub /r/ListenToThis /r/Music /r/RadioReddit /r/LearnMusic /r/Reasoners /r/AudioPost /r/GameAudio /r/RateMyAudio /r/StudioPorn /r/SFXLibraries Pro Tools Operating System Compatibility ChartĬomputer Optimization and Troubleshooting Guides - Mac and Windows Pro Tools product line feature set comparison As the site guidelines and their notices tell you, be sure to read the sub rules before participating Feature/Sticky Post Schedule DayĬontent Creation Station - for Evals and Self-Promotion Whether it is yours or theirs, there are no allowable exceptions or appealable circumstances.
